Kawarau River Rafting

Kawarau River - Itinerary

  • Make your way down to the Shotover Street store where you will meet the team
  • Check in 15 minutes before your experience
  • Jump on our shuttle that will take you to the Rafting Base at Arthurs Point
  • Meet the guides, grab your wetsuit and head to the changing rooms
  • Get kitted out with your spray jacket and life vest before jumping on the bus
  • The bus will transport you to the Kawarau River raft put in, 25 minutes away in The Gibbston Valley
  • If you have upgraded to Jet to Raft you will be taken to the Go Orange Kiosk in Queenstown
  • Watch the rafts transport down to the river on our pulley system
  • Listen to the safety briefing, jump in and start your paddle journey
  • Continue down the Kawarau River with your team, passing under the famous AJ Hackett Bungy Bridge
  • Raft, swim and tackle the grade 2-3 whitewater rapids
  • Cliff jumping is an added bonus on this experience
  • Take on the mighty 400m long Dog Leg, NZ’s longest commercially rafted rapid
  • Jump back on our bus heading to the Raft Base
  • Enjoy a hot shower and a cold beer (if you’d like) down at Canyon Brewing Co.
  • Jump on the shuttle to downtown Queenstown
